Hi! I’m Tobi. By profession, I’m a software engineer, but I enjoy doing all kinds of creative work in my free time. Not that software engineering is not creative, but, you know.

I’m currently living as a digital nomad with my fiancée while we’re figuring out where to settle down. We’re exploring Germany and the surrounding countries. While we are traveling, I do not have the same access to my music, which is usually my creative outlet of choice, as I could not bring all my instruments with me. Therefore, I turned to photography, which I figured would make sense given how much we are seeing and experiencing. I will be documenting my experiences and progress as a photographer here. I also make music!

I’ve released two EPs as the sojourner’s dream, available on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music and pretty much any other streaming platform. The project is on hiatus until I have settled into a place where I can set up all of my instruments. On my hard drive in storage in Hamburg I have some 70% of a third EP waiting to be finished though. If you’d like to, you can listen to two demos [one, two] on Soundcloud.

I play Chess at a decent level. I’m around 1550 chess.com ELO as of the writing of this article, but I am continuing to improve. When I settle down, I’m hoping to join a club and play some tournaments. You can play me online if you like.

I’m an Open Source idealist and publish all the source code for my projects publicly, including the one for this blog. This blog is actually built using GitHub Pages for static site hosting, Cloudflare for DNS and caching, and B2 for photo storage. You can find the source code to it here and the link to my GitHub here. There are some other projects there that I feel are compelling. I also have a technical blog to which I publish like once every six months, hosted on twaslowski.com.

I also enjoy all kinds of outdoorsy stuff. I particularly enjoy hiking, biking, canoeing and lifting heavy things.
